Friends

I got to hang out with an old friend who I haven't seen in a couple of years, but who I've known since we were about 12. It was awesome, she's still the same old Amanda, she's a doll and I love her to death. I found out that she's moving out to OC sometime after the first of the year and I'm super excited! She's really fun to hang out with and I can't wait to party with her more often, though coming back to work buzzed is probably something I shouldn't do to often...

Stress

Why is it everyone seems to be stressed at the same time? I mean it's like when you drive around everyone seems to be having the same kinds of days as one another. Maybe it's just all about preseption and the way that we are feeling at the time. But I know there's some drama at work for me right now and since that seems to be where I spend the majority of my time I feel it compounded.

On a happier note, I went to OC Pub Knitters tonight and had a blast. I finally picked back up my Sahara, I can actually work on it now that it's cold again. I think I've also decided that I'm going to use all my Cascade 220 for a stripy blanket, not sure if I want to do mitered squares, but that's what I'm thinking right now. Hmm, that'll have to wait until after Christmas.

Driving in California

Somedays I love living in California, some days it makes me want to decapitate all of the people who feel the need to drive like jerks! Today it took me 45 min to get to Huntington Beach from Irvine, about a 15 min drive normally, during which time I almost got hit by 4 people, I wasn't swerving or anything, just driving in one lane, crazy people I tell you! I think that's it for now, more later...

Guy Fawkes

Remember, remember the 5th of November,

The gun powder treason and plot.

I can think of no reason why the gun powder treason,

Should ever be forgot.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day everyone!!

Maybe more later...

Sundays are for fun

So today Steve slept in forever, which gave me a chance to get caught up on Seeing Red, I am in love with this book series. It's kind of like Wicked but for Alice in Wonderland, which I have always had a bit of an obsession with.

Working Out

So I've been trying to get in shape lately and so Steve and I started working out. Seems like a simple enough idea, so we're doing upper body 3 times a week and running 3 times a week. Holy crap it's making me so tired, but on the bright side, I've been sleeping a lot better and my days don't seem as long because at least I have something to look forward to.

I've also been trying to work out how I want to go about a crafty business. I was thinking about dying yarn, and I may still do that, but I think that I would do a lot better with things I could craft and sell. I've been toying with the idea of crocheting or knitting or knitting and felting vintage inspired hats. I made a top hat for my Halloween costume and I love it, it was a huge hit. And I love vintage hats, so it just seems like a natural mix for me. Now I just need to figure out some patterns and I started working on that today. It's starting to come along and it's a good use for all that Cascade 220 I have in my stash, which is nice. I'm starting with a tear-drop hat and I'm thinking of adding things like ostrich plumes and vales not necessarily knit or chrocheted. We'll see, should be an interesting adventure. Anyway, I'm going to go out now, I'll write again tomorrow.
